A meeting with local consumers was held in Zugdidi as part of Consumer Protection Week

In order to improve consumer rights protection mechanisms in Georgia, organized by the Competition and Consumer Protection Agency, the State Insurance Supervision Service, the National Bank, the Communications Commission, and the National Food Agency, An informational and working meeting with local consumers living in Zugdidi was held in the assembly hall of the Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti State Governor's Administration.
The event was attended by: Member of the Parliament of Georgia, Vladimer Bozhadze; Chairman of the Competition and Consumer Protection Agency, Irakli Lekvinadze; Chairman of the State Insurance Supervisory Commission, David Narmania; and Head of the State Insurance Supervision Service, David Onoprishvili.
The event was attended by State Representative David Verava, Zugdidi delegate to the Parliament of Georgia David Kodua, and Zugdidi Mayor Mamuka Tsokri.
Within the framework of the III International Consumer Protection Week, one of the main focuses is on the active involvement of persons with disabilities, representatives of ethnic minorities, and citizens living in the region, ensuring equal access to information for them.
In a panel discussion format, six regulatory agencies responsible for protecting consumer rights reviewed the results, challenges, and enforcement mechanisms. The meeting was held in a question-and-answer format. Where detailed answers were given - how consumers should protect their rights, who to contact in case of violation, and in what form.
Within the framework of the week, working and informational meetings with consumers will be held: on March 10 - in Tbilisi, on March 12 - in Akhalkalaki, on March 14 - in Zugdidi, and on March 15 - the closing event of the week will be held in Batumi. The goal of the international week is to improve the rights of consumers.
