State Representative met with the Ambassador of Austria to Georgia
The State Representative of Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti Giorgi Guguchia together with the First Deputy Nino Vibliani met with the Ambassador of the Republic of Austria to Georgia Thomas Mühlmann and Historian Kurt Scharr, professor of the University of Innsbruck.
At the meeting, sides discussed about the activities to be implemented within the framework of the memorandum of cooperation signed between the Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti region and the Federal Land of Tyrol of the Republic of Austria. Historian Kurt Scharr conducted a public lecture at Shota Meskhia State Teaching University of Zugdidi.
Tyrol already cooperates with Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti in the direction of fire-rescue and forest fire management issues. Special equipment will be handed over in the spring of this year. Cooperation in the tourism and education sector is also planned, as well as participate in teacher exchange programs. The delegation from Mestia had already been in Tyrol.
At the meeting, sides discussed about the activities to be implemented within the framework of the memorandum of cooperation signed between the Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti region and the Federal Land of Tyrol of the Republic of Austria. It is planned to arrange a Peace Park and Monument an Austrian novelist, peace activist, and the first woman to receive the Nobel Peace Prize Bertha von Suttner regarding to her work in Zugdidi.
A memorandum of cooperation between the Austrian Federal Land of Tyrol and the Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti side was signed in October 2021. The agreement was signed by Giorgi Guguchia, the State Representative of Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti, and Günter Platter, the Governor of the Federal Land of Tyrol.
A memorandum of cooperation aims at cooperation between the parties in the fields of economy, tourism, culture, education, sports, and civil security, as well as sharing experience. Holding of joint forums and business fairs, meetings of entrepreneurs and development of joint projects.
