AspBAN Project Hybrid Workshop in Poti

CPMR Balkan & Black Sea and Atlantic Arc Commissions  within  the framework of the Atlantic Smart Ports Blue Acceleration Network (AspBAN Project) organised workshop in Poti (Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti Region - CPMR BBSC Member). Workshop held  in a hybrid format so that it facilitate the participation of a wide range of stakeholders and enhances the visibility of Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti Region and Poti Municipality and their standing among international stakeholders for future cooperation schemes under EU calls.

At the meeting attanded by the firt deputy of the State Representative of Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti M Nino Vibliani, Mr Stavros KALOGNOMOS, Executive Secretary of the CPMR Balkan and Black Sea Commission, Ms Delphine Kaczorowski, Project & Policy Officer, Conference of Peripheral Maritime Regions (CPMR), Mr Irakli TAVBERIDZE, Acting Head of Poti Maritime Training Centre (Georgia),  Mr Zviad CHKHARTISHVILI, Commercial Relations Officer of APM Terminals Poti (Georgia), Mr Merab KADJAIA, IMO Officer, International Relations Division, LEPL “Maritime Transport Agency”, Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia, Georgian Coordination of the Common Maritime Agenda (CMA) and CPMR member region representatives. Sides discussed about ambitions and transferability opportunities for the balkan and black sea.

The hybrid workshop in Poti aims to explore ways for future cooperation between AspBAN partners and stakeholders from the wider Black Sea region, as well as possible replication of the AspBAN Project’s best practices in the area.

CPMR Unites 24 countries, around 160 regions, as in the European Union, as well as abroad. The platform was created in 1973 and is largely focused on social and economic issues and maritime policy. Also among the important issues of the Association are European governance, energy and climate change, neighborhood policy and development.
