National Flag Day

The National Flag Day is celebrated in Georgia on January 14. The flag of Georgia, also known as the Five Cross Flag, is one of the national symbols of Georgia.

The current national flag was officially introduced on January 14, 2004.

The flag was used by the Georgian patriotic movement following the country's independence from the Soviet Union in 1991.

The Georgian national flag festively raised on in Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti Municipalities. Citizens are also encouraged to raise symbolic flags out of their windows to join the national celebration.

 Gamsakhurdia avenue Freedom Square of Zugdidi decorate with National flags. In Poti, Georgian flags were raised on Agmashenebeli Street.

National flags hoisted in the administrative buildings of Senaki municipality and in the central square of the city. Also, the square named after Zhiuli Shartava was decorated with flags. At the end of the day, a theatrical performance will be held at the Concert Hall of the Youth and Pupil and Culture Center.

State flags were raised on Aghmashenebeli Street in Chkhorotsku. In Tsalenjikha the central square named after Gogi Kalandia was decorated with five cross flags. Georgian flags were raised on administrative buildings and multi-storey houses in Abasha.

Administrative  buildings of Martvili, Khobi and Mestia Municipalities were decorated with National Flags.
