Alexander Motserelia met with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Federal Republic of Germany to Georgia

The State Representative of Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti Alexander Motserelia together with the Poti City Minicipality Mayor and his deputies have met with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Federal Republic of Germany to Georgia at the Poti City Hall.

At the meeting  discussed issues including strengthening bilateral relations and the projects to be  implemented jointly in the future, emphasize the meaning of the economic potential of the region and directly the city Poti.

The State Representative of Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti Alexander Motserelia introduced to the Ambassador the history of the city and spoke about the role of the German architect Edmund Frick in the development of its architectural appearance. Later, they  inspected the buildings designed by Frick, which presents Cultural heritage sites  today.

The State Representative administration with the central government and city hall   is actively working to rehabilitate the buildings built by Frick.

On May 28, 1918, an agreement was signed at the port of Poti between the German Empire and the Democratic Republic of Georgia, where Georgia received German patronage and recognition.

The agreement was signed by General Otto von Lossow from Germany and the then Prime Minister of Georgia Noe Ramishvili and Foreign Minister Akaki Chkhenkeli.
