The State Representative of Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti Alexander Motserelia briefed about the current situation at the resort of LeBarde

Lebarde Resort development planning works are underway.  According to the  pre-project research  and strategic development vision of general layout, the resort will be divided into 6 zones, the first zone is low-rise hotels and sanatoriums, the second zone is called as Campings  “Caravans”, the third zone should be dedicated to sports facilities and underground parking, the fourth zone will be the tourist service center. The  fifth zone will be for hotels and public buildings, in the sixth zone youth camp will be located.

A road leading to the climatic spa resort of Lebarde located in the very heart of western Georgia, in Martvili municipality, will be completely repaired.

The first stage of repair work, which includes laying down a 6 km-long road, is already in progress, announces the Roads Department of Georgia. The cost of the project is 3,600,000 GEL.  

Located 1,600 metres above sea level Lebarde is one of the natural destinations. The town first emerged as a health resort after mineral water was discovered by local shepherds in the area in the 1940s. 

Benefiting those suffering from a variety of illnesses, the springs saw Lebarde transformed into a developed holiday retreat during the Soviet era.

Among picturesque mountains in western Georgia Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti province, the mountain resort town of Lebarde is an attraction for hikers who prefer locations off the beaten tourist track.
