1 October - International Day of the Older Persons.

On December 14, 1990 the United Nations General Assembly voted to establish October 1 as International Day of the Older Persons as recorded in Resolution 45/106.  International Day of the Older Persons is observed on October 1 each year since 1991.

At  the event attended by the Deputy of the State Representative of Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti Davit Verava, Chairman of Sakrebulo Health and Social Issues Commission Otar Kadaria, Sakrebulo member Salome Patsatsia, Deputy Mayor Konstantine Kakava and other local government officials.

Since 2003, International Day of the Older Persons has been celebrated in Georgia.
