. The Representatives of EIB got acquainted with construction process of Poti Sports Complex

The Representatives of the "European Investment Bank" (EIB) visited their projects in Poti.

 “EIB” Administration together with the State Representative of Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti Alexander Motserelia, Deputy Minister of Regional Development and Infrastructure Grigol Katsia, Executive Director of Municipal Development Fund Giorgi Shengelia and local Government representatives got acquainted with the construction of the Sports Complex of Poti.

Number of important projects has been implemented in our region by financial support of the European Investment Bank, by means of which considerable infrastructure improvements took place and lots of problematic issues have been solved for local citizens. These projects related to road infrastructure, as well as the water supply and improvement of kindergartens’ infrastructure etc." stated the State Representative of Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti Alexander Motserelia.

The Municipal Development Fund of Georgia has also been implementing the construction of multifunctional Sports Complex and Swimming Pool in Poti with financial support of European Investment Bank.

Multifunctional sports complex will have large (25X16) and small (10X8) swimming pools, in the space of swimming pool the spectator seats will be arranged calculated for 100 spectators. The complex will also have a playground and spectator seats for 160 spectators. The fitness hall will be located separately. In the Sports Complex there will be a shower, separate rooms for coaches, referees, staff and physician. There will be located cafe and accommodation for athletes. The new complex will allow people interested in sports to practice in a comfortable environment and holding tournaments in a wide variety of sports, both national and international level. The implementation of the project started in March last year and will have been completed by the end of this year. Project costs 14.5 million GEL.

Today the Representatives of the European Investment Bank have also visited the Storm Water Pumping Station in Poti supported by them as well.
