The First Youth Forum “Youth For Zugdidi” held.

400 young people and government officials discussed about youth policy development and implementation of the related new initiatives in the Municipality.

The First Deputy Mayor of Zugdidi Giorgi Shengelia introduced young people with the new project to be put into action first in Zugdidi. The new space will give youngsters the opportunity to work in a modern environment, relax, embrace sports and enjoy healthy lifestyle in new facilities with cafes, sport and literature corner, and working and leisure rooms.

"You are the young generation who must be actively involved in social life. We seek to make a link between the government and youth as tight as possible. As much as you become active, we shall get better results in the course of state-building "- State Representative Alexander Motserelia noted at the meeting.

The goal of the forum is to discuss about youth policy development issues and needs-based and demand-oriented initiatives in the municipality.

 “I am delighted to have chance to meet with young people from Zugdidi. Youth’s role is very important in nation- building process.  As much you actively participate in the process of making public, social and state decisions, as the country will gain,  

We all agree that our country is still on its way to development and building where your commitment and active participation would be a real backup and strong encouragement for us to do our job better.” Minister of Environment Protection and Agriculture Levan Davitashvili stated.

 Your voice, youth’s voice sounds much louder and the power that you have inside is a real opportunity to bring about changes” - Irakli Chikovani,  a Head of Strategic Communications Service of the Government’s Administration declared – “It's important to believe in your strengths and capacities. Believe me, there is no obstacle for you, but on the contrary, today young people in this country have much more opportunities.” – he said.

The meeting is important for development of local youth policy, which will facilitate the rapprochement of youth and increase their participation in Municipal issues.

The meeting with youth was also attended by Zugdidi majoritarian MP and local government authorities.
