The US Government Delivered 2 ships - ''Dioscuria'' and ''Ochamchire” of ''ISLAND'' class to the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia

Governor of Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti Aleksandre Motserelia attended the ceremony of delivering coast guard ships of the “ISLAND” class to Georgia. The ships "Ochamchire" and "Dioskuria" were delivered in Poti, on the coast guard base. The event was opened by the Prime Minister of Georgia Mamuka Bakhtadze and the Vice Prime Minister, Minister of Internal Affairs Giorgi Gakharia.

Ships of "Island" class are distinctive with their technical capabilities, equipped with modern standards for navigation and communication systems. These vessels will significantly strengthen coastal operational capabilities, and the Georgian side will be able to participate in international maritime missions and partner countries of the Black Sea basin countries.

The ceremony was attended by members of the Government of Georgia, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the US Embassy, ​​the NATO Liaison Office, as well as representatives of diplomatic corps accredited in Georgia and defense attachés of different countries.
