Heavy Rain Caused Problems in Samegrelo Region

Heavy rain caused problems in several Municipalities of Samegrelo. The heavy rainfall has hit most of Senaki and Martvili Municipalities.

In Senaki, Chavchavadze and adjacent streets flooded the first floors of landslide houses. Also, problems were created in old Senaki village of Ledzadzame, Ushapati, Sorta and other administrative units.

Heavy rainfall also created problems in Martvili Municipality. The swelling stream flooded homestead plots and houses: in Bandza, Chkoni, Talari, Abdatii, Najikhao, Doshakhe, Nakhunau and Khurdzu.

Heavy rains damaged internal roads and drainage channels. Some villages have been disrupted electricity supply. Large rainfall also caused problems in Chkhorotsku, Zugdidi and Khobi Municipalities.

Samegrelo Zemo-Svaneti Governor's Acting Officer, Administration Staff, Mayors of Municipalities and Representatives of Local Self-Government Departments are in the disaster zone.

Loss calculations commissions are already working in all municipalities.

Liquidation works are underway in every place where possible. ENERGO-PRO Georgia groups work on the restoration of electricity.

Deputy Minister of Regional Development and Infrastructure Ilia Begiashvili and Giga Katsia are expected in the disaster zone and  will be involved in the liquidation works of the disaster.
