Prime Minister Mamuka Bakhtadze inspected the situation in the disaster zone

Prime Minister of Georgia Mamuka Bakhtadze visited the village of Chuberi.

The head of the Government inspected the ongoing works and the current situation in site.

The Prime Minister arrived at the emergency liquidation headquarters, where he heard about the information about needs of the population. The head of the government instructed the relevant agencies to provide the population with water supply food, medicines and essential necessities.

"Emergency headquarters work in 24-hour mode. The heavy rainfall caused by river flooding, 6 bridges are taken away, the technique is mobilized, now we are waiting for lowering water level to  start road restoration works. Most importantly, all mobilization has already been done in the valley, as for food products, drinking water and medicines. In addition, we have already taken a few people who have been cut off from the outside world. There are no risks in this regard, but naturally, our specialists continue 24-hour monitoring. This incident once again showed us that we should have fast communication systems everywhere in Georgia. Unfortunately, we have it only in two places today and from next year we will have installed these systems everywhere. This will enable us to work more efficiently. Of course, all of this was caused by precipitation, but it should also be noted that illegal cutting of forests has significantly contributed to this and we will punish those people who did it. - The Prime Minister said.

According to the head of the Government, since the water level is not decreased, the emergency headquarters have decided to empty the houses that are in danger.

"We help the population to draw their belongings out of these houses, but we will not be able to directly repair the road until the water level is not reduced. Now we can ensure that the river does not take the road away. We have done the evacuation of those people who are in danger. We will take several tourists in the nearest hours. Other people are not in danger. The helicopter is in charge, we control the 24-hour regime to take additional measures in case of increased water level, and at this stage there are no risks, "- said the Prime Minister.

According to the head of the government, the specialists say that the natural disaster caused by the rainfall is not insured, but the government will wait for the final conclusion.

In case of abundant rainfall, we should be able to answer in quick response and have early notification systems that are only two in Georgia. When the final conclusion will be placed, what is it all about, we will get the following decisions ", - said the Prime Minister.

Minister of Regional Development and Infrastructure Maia Tskitishvili and Minister of Environment Protection and Agriculture Levan Davitashvili were in the disaster zone together with the Prime Minister.

In the Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti region, all the relevant agencies and services are involved in the discharge of the disaster caused by the flooding of the river Nenskra in the village of Chuberi. Giorgi Mghebrishvili, Head of Emergency Service Department, Minister of Internally Displaced People from the Occupied Territories, Accommodation and Refugees Sozar Subari is on the spot. The employees of the Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti Police Department and the Emergency Situations Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs control the situation on the ground and help the population who are unable to move due to the flooding of roads. Specialists of specialists of Fire-Rescue and Roads Department are mobilized.

Representative of the Party and representatives of local government are in the village of Chuberi.

Additional rescue teams and techniques are mobilized from the nearest locations.

In case of need, evacuation of the inhabitants of Chuberi will be carried out.
