National Environmental Agency held a Workshop on Geological Threats

Organized by the Ministry of Environment Protection and the Ministry of Agriculture, a workshop on environmental impact assessment was held on 2017 where the development of natural geological processes, development results and 2018 forecast were discussed.

Merab Gafrindashvili, head of the Geology Department of the National Environmental Agency, introduced the problems concerning geological threats and underground freshwater drinking water management to the local self-government representatives.

Monitoring and recommendations for preventive measures have also been discussed at the meeting. The Head of Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti Regional Projects Coordination Service Nugzar Gabelia and representatives of the Municipality Infrastructure Service attended the workshop.
