Embankment works carried out on Enguri River

Embankment works were carried out  at 6 different locations places of the River Enguri in Zugdidi Municipality.

During the abundant rainfall, the Enguri river was a constant threat to the population. The flooded river damaged local population's plots and  even seized cornfields in some sections.

In order to solve the problem, the embankment constructions were arranged on the river Enguri-Shamgona, Koki and Orsantia sections. In the administrative unit of Tkhaia the works are in the stage of completion.

Zurab Alavidze, Minister of Regional Development and Infrastructure,  together  with the Deputy Governor of Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti - David Kodua, the Mayor of Zugdidi   and Chairman of City Council visited the completed works.

The works were executed by the Roads Department. The project was funded from   the state budget and its total value is 1 975 200 GEL.
