The Minister of Regional Development and Infrastructure inspected construction works of the Anaklia port

Preparatory works of the Anaklia deep water  port are actively going on. Zurab Alavidze, Minister of Regional Development and Infrastructure visited the work  process, together with the Deputy Governor of Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti, Davit Kodua  and Deputy Director of the Anaklia Development Consortium Giorgi Mirtskhulava.

According to Zurab Alavidze, Anaklia's deep-water port is one of the most important projects in the country's latest history. "I'm sure this port will allow us to increase the country's transit potential several times. The perennial port is one of the strategic projects for the country, which will turn Georgia back on the historic silk road. "

The project consists of  9 phases and is calculated for 100 million tons of cargo turnover. The total investment cost of the project is $ 2.5 billion.
