The ships of ''NATO'' entered Poti
Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti Governor Levan Shonia, Head of the Border Police of the Ministry of Internal Affairs Temur Kekelidze, Poti Mayor Gocha Kurdgelia, Chairman of Poti City Council Irakli Kakulia, together with the representatives of the Coast Guard Department, Bulgaria Embassy, NATO Liaison Office, met the leaders of the NATO's Permanent Second Marine Composition.
The NATO second marine unit includes: Flagship "HMS DUNCAN" (Great Britain), "TCG GEMLIK" (Turkey Republic), "BGS DRAZKI" (Bulgaria) and "RS REGELE FERDINANT" (Romania). The NATO second permanent unit is headed by Michael Woodley.
Within the framework of the visit, the head of the NATO permanent Second marine Unit and the Heads of the vessels will visit the Border Police Coast Guard Base of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia and will hold a meeting with the Head of the Border Police and the Coast Guard Department.
After the ceremony was over, the aim of the visit was discussed meeting at the meeting with Deputy Governor Davit Kodua and members of the local self-government and exchanged memorable gifts.
The vessels of NATO's Permanent Second Marine Corps (SNMG2) will remain in the port of Poti until May 18 and will participate in various exercises together with Coast Guard. These measures aim to enhance interoperability between Georgia and the NATO naval forces.
