Morserelia initiates Fighting against Pests starts door-to-door

The Governor of Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti introduced large-scale plans for the survival of hazelnut culture to the Mayors of Municipalities, chairpersons of City Council, representatives of the agriculture sector and private sector.

Alexander Morserelia's initiative involves working on the principles of agriculture sector specialists, "Nuts Producers Association", National Food Agency, "House-to-Door" Groups, created by representatives of "Nut Production and Exporters Association". The purpose of the visit to farmers is to study the problems in their hazelnut gardens and provide competent consultation. Representatives of the municipalities, village attorneys, council members, experts and academics will be represented in the working group.

Presentation of hazelnut technological map and implementation of events was held at the meeting. It was also noted that successful farmers of the region will share their practices with the nihilistic community. Agrarians and big companies such as” Ferrero” and “Olori” will be involved in the process. As the Governor has announced, the groups will grow on the basis of the problems that are being investigated in the region. At the end of the meeting, the necessity of creating cooperatives in each Municipality was planned and strengthened by local and foreign companies.

Campaign against hazelnut pests will begin soon after staffing working groups.
